Another day, another Sabrina the Teenage Witch casting announcement! Tati Gabrielle is the latest cast member to join series, which is expected to start filming very soon (we hope!). The young actress, who you might recognize from the CW series The 100 will play Prudence, the leader of the Weird Sisters and the archenemy of Kiernan Shipka’s Sabrina Spellman!
According to Deadline, Prudence is “a student at the Academy of Unseen Arts and the de facto leader of a trio of witches known as the Weird Sisters. Beautiful and cunning, Prudence nurses a deep, personal, and possibly life-threatening grudge against Sabrina.”
Here’s a photo from Tati’s Instagram so you can put a face to the character!
At this point, not much is known about Prudence or the Weird Sisters’ involvement in the new Sabrina storyline except for the fact that they were not featured in the original Archie Comics. As Comicbook.com points out, the name “Weird Sisters” actually comes from Shakespeare’s Macbeth. In the play, the witches are what lead the main character to his death, so it’ll be interesting to see what the show does with this supernatural trio. One thing is for sure: Tati’s character is not the only one who will give Sabrina some trouble. Richard Coyle was cast as villainous Father Blackwood and Bronson Pinchot will Sabrina’s evil principal.
Those of you who were fans of Sabrina the Teenage Witch starring Melissa Joan Hart, shouldn’t expect the reboot to be anything like the original. In fact, Deadline describes the new series as a “dark coming-of-age tale that traffics in horror, the occult and witchcraft.” Tonally, it’s been said to be along the veins of horror movies like Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, with Sabrina finding herself wrestling to “reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while fighting the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.”
Tati also joins recently cast Ross Lynch as Harvey Kinkle, as well as Lucy Davis as Aunt Hilda, Miranda Otto as Aunt Zelda, Jaz Sinclair as Sabrina’s BFF Rosalind, Chance Perdomo as Sabrina’s cousin Ambrose Spellman, and Michelle Gomez as Miss Mary Wardell.
Salam the cat is also expected to be on the show! However, it’s unclear if he will talk like he did in the original. In February, Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa tweeted a photo of Salem – and he looks exactly the same (even though all black cats generally looks the same).

Roberto, who will serve as executive producer on the Sabrina reboot, is the brain behind The CW’s Riverdale and the two are said to be companion shows – though there may not be too much overlap. As of right now, the Sabrina reboot does not have a release date. However, Netflix did order two 10-episode seasons, so we have a lot to look forward to!
